Farmlytics was commissioned by WWF Cymru to look at the impact of extreme weather and climate change on Welsh agriculture and food security. The project built on previous work looking at the impact of extreme weather on Scottish agriculture.
The project was to undertake secondary market research on the US organic speciality crops market.
The aim of the study was to establish the theoretical viability of large scale soybean farming for the purpose of supplying the oil and protein industry in Lebanon.
The client is a startup focused on Agricultural sustainability and food security in Liberia. There was a particular interest in leveraging renewable energy to improve the storage of perishable crops within the country and using greenhouse technology for all-year production and irrigation. The concept note produced for the company contained the following: “Jonathan is very professional and knows how to get the job done. The project was to provide a literature review and technical report on the use of probiotics in the livestock sector, with a focus on Australian agriculture. The client was interested in the economic benefits to livestock farmers accruing from the use of direct-fed microbes versus the input cost of microbe usage. The project was to develop a short course and workbook on crop nutrition for annual crops. The project for a leading environmental NGO reviewed data relevant to the present condition and trends in Welsh nature across terrestrial, forest, freshwater, and marine environments. The report identified and assessed the current drivers of biodiversity loss within Wales and its territorial waters; and assessed them against the devolved competencies of the Welsh Government.
