The client – a fruit exporter was interested in investing in Fruit Preservation equipment, the study comprised two parts.
1. Review of technology – a review of the Scientific and technical literature on low temperature fruit preservation technology. This included the specific processes, details of how long can fruit be stored, what fruit /veg products are most suited to preservation using low temperatures.
2. The benefits and costs – a section outlining the specific equipment available, capital and typical running costs per MT/hour etc. and a description of the potential benefits of adopting the technology for the clients business.
